Private Party Venue Rental on Non-polo days

Polo Party Group Reservations 

  • Dates:
    • Oct 1 - Jan 14: Pre-Season Sale for group reservations ahead of the Box Office public opening; opportunities limited per match.
    • Feb 1: Box Office opens to the public; self-booking available online.
    • June - September: Newport International Polo Series every Saturday at 5PM, 4PM in September. Schedule subject to change.

  • Group reservations of any kind require payment in full to secure the reservation. 
  • If you wish to host a Polo Party for a group, we recommend purchasing the tickets as early as possible to ensure availability.  Tickets are electronic and sent via email to distribute to guests.
  • All guests must present proper admission ticket at entry gates; no admission without ticket.  Group tickets are emailed upon completing the reservation.  Polo party hosts must ensure that guests receive tickets in advance. Guest lists cannot be accommodated at the entry gates; polo party tickets may not be distributed at the Polo Grounds nor left at Will Call.
  • Polo Party reservations prior to the Box Office opening must be booked with the Polo office by emailing; the Box Office on our website can also be used for self-booking once the Box Office opens, however, availability will become limited.

Group Seating Options

A.  Pavilion: Table Seating 


  • Ideal for adult event.
  • Tables seat 4, 6 or 8 on the Lawn, 4 or 6 on the Porch and Decks, and 4 or 8 under the Tent.  
  • Tables include floor-length white tablecloths and floral centerpieces;  Party may add own decoration to tables; no confetti or glass.
  • Exclusive use of designated areas offered with minimum reservation as follows:  76 for Tent; 40 for Main Deck; 44 for Upper Deck.  Furnishing/seating layout may be tailored to the party's specifications.
  • 30’ x 60’ white Polo Tent with side panels, is elevated above Lawn and Porch levels for unobstructed viewing of match and grounds.  Exclusive or shared use, based on availability.
  • All Pavilion seating is handicap accessible, except Upper Deck.
  • Bar service with wait staff provided by Newport Polo – bar menu available to make advanced selections; advanced notice is helpful to ensure your specifications.
    • For parties of 40+, a private waiter will be required at the standard rate ($30/hour for 4 hour minimum + 18% gratuity).
    • No outside beverages permitted within Pavilion.
    • Bar tab payment by cash, credit card, or corporate check at close of event.
  • Food/Catering at Party’s arrangement.
  • Pavilion Host will assist guests to Party's reserved tables.
  • Payment in full required upon selection of date to secure reservation.
  • Cancellation for refund must be in writing at least 30 days in advance of event.
  • If match is postponed due to weather, reservations are honored on Rain Date, the following day, Sunday, at same time.  Groups may opt to hold their party as scheduled, despite postponement of polo match.

B. Grandstand (bleachers)


  • Ideal for adult or family event; children age 15 & younger are free; Parking is free.
  • To reserve 1/2 or all of Grandstand, 50 or 100 tickets need to be purchased in advance.

  • If match is postponed due to weather, reservations are honored on Rain Date, the following day, Sunday, at same time.  Groups may opt to hold their party as scheduled, despite postponement of polo match.

C. Reserved Tailgate Parking 

$80/Tailgate + $20/Adult Lawn Admission   -or-   $125/Chalet (includes tent) + $20/Adult Lawn Admission

  • There is a Limit of 1 Tailgate/Chalet Parking Space per Family/Household, per match, unless ticket minimums are met for multi-space Group Reservations as stated below.   
  • Group Reservation is for multiple Tailgate/Chalet Parking Spaces, not for 1 Tailgate Parking Space.  The Group Reservation program requires the Tailgate reservation fee plus the purchase of a minimum quantity of Lawn Admission tickets per space, at the time of the space reservation. You may either self-reserve once the Box Office opens or email us with the dates and number of guests so that we can provide availability and process your reservation.  Once the Box Office opens for the season, availability of Tailgate Parking spaces will become limited, therefore please email us so that we may better assist you.  
2 Spaces (requires min purchase of 20 tix) for parties of 20-39 people
3 Spaces (requires min purchase of 40 tix) for parties of 40-59 people
4 Spaces (requires min purchase of 60 tix) for parties of 60-79 people
5 Spaces (requires min purchase of 80 tix) for parties of 80-119 people
6 Spaces (requires min purchase of 120 tix) for parties of 120-149 people
7 spaces (requires min purchase of 150 tix) for parties of 150-179 people
8 spaces (requires min purchase of 180tix) for parties of 180-209 people
9 Spaces (requires min purchase of 210 tix) for parties of 210-249 people
10 spaces (requires min purchase of 250 tix) for parties of 250+ people
  • Single Tailgate/Chalet parking spaces are reserved by self-booking only, when the Box Office is open, and have no ticket minimum requirement.  However, the space reservation does not include admission.  All adult occupants are required to have a Lawn Admission ticket to access the Tailgate/Chalet.  Each single space can accommodate up to 15 people, plus a standard passenger car; guest parking in nearby general parking.
  • Tailgates, 29 - 88, come without tents and can accommodate two cars parked end to end, but for maximum-sized groups, the second car should be eliminated to reduce overcrowding.  
  • Chalets, 1 - 28, include installed 10' x 10' Chalet tent, and can accommodate 1 car parked directly behind tent.

D. Reserved Lawn


  • Ideal for adult or family event; Parking is free.
  • Reserved area on the Lawn between the southside Tailgates (near the national flags) and the bleachers
  • Adult Lawn Admission
  • Chairs in rows on the lawn, set up by Newport Polo
  • Optional banquet table, no tablecloth provided
  • 10ft. x 20ft. tent with a minimum of 25 guests
  • 20ft. x 20ft. tent with a minimum of 50 guests
  • Refunds are provided with at least 30 days advanced notice of the event, in writing via email.
  • If match is postponed due to weather, reservations are honored on Rain Date, the following day, Sunday, at same time.  Groups may opt to hold their party as scheduled, despite postponement of polo match.
