Team Jamaica has landed, Jamin' to Newport's tune for an extended weekend in the city by the sea.  Even on their 22nd tour, there's plenty still to be discovered, and steadfast favorites to revisit for new memories.  The players have already settled at team headquarters, Hotel Viking, where they received a warm welcome at the century's old Newport icon.  Continue reading for their weekend itinerary to catch the team out on the town, and, of course, make your plans to witness the action for USA vs. Jamaica, followed by an authentic Jerk Grill this Saturday, August 20.

Wednesday

Comfortably enshrined in the beautifully appointed Hotel Viking guestrooms, Team Jamaica's first day on the ground is likely to have many sightings.  From their central downtown location, the players are within easy walking distance of the boutiques, restaurants, and Newport waterfront to stretch their legs after a day of traveling.  A welcome dinner with Team USA will rekindle rivalry and friendship to set the stage for the remaining tour.

Thursday

Great weather is in store to partake in Newport's favorite pastimes for a full day of Gilded Age sporting, starting with a scenic hike on the Cliff Walk, then a tour of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, followed by a set on the historic grass courts.  Then, it's on to a tour a slice of classic Americana with Audrain Automobile Museum's current exhibition of post-war highway cruisers, before mansion tours along famed Bellevue Ave.  The day culminates in a friendship tournament with Team USA where the Jamaican players will get the chance to bond with the equestrian teammates they will be paired with for the Saturday competition.  A fieldside bbq will enjoy polo's global camaraderie to close out the day.

Friday

Team Jamaica will have Newport as its oyster with a buffet of activity choices to while away the day.  Glorious weather calls the team to the shores for paddle boarding with the Island Surf & Sport pros and a picnic with Newport Picnic Co.  Then, not to be missed is the triennial Coaching Weekend that will showcase the magnificent 4-in-hand coaches seen ferrying the elite of Bellevue Avenue during the Gilded Age heyday.  Daily drives begin on Friday with a Saturday exhibition at the Elms and additional special events.  The team's next activity will take a technological jump to the modern era for an aerial adventure along Newport's coastline and famed avenues aloft Newport Helicopter Tours.  A sunset cruise aboard Newport Hinckley Charter's Talaria 40 picnic boat will dock at the evening's finale and the venerable Clarke Cooke House for the official welcome dinner with Team USA and the Newport Polo Club on the eve of battle.

Saturday

Ideal beach conditions will give the Jamaican players the chance to relax before the much-anticipated rematch against USA in the Newport International Polo Series, Presented by Turkish Airlines.  They'll need to be in top form to meet the challenge with the USA players at peak fitness and riding a 2-year winning streak over Jamrock's stalwarts.  Après Polo festivities will prove equally entertaining as the players reconvene to mark the day, whether in victory or defeat, in the Modern Luxury Lounge on the Pavilion Patio.  The Cocktail Guru will serve up a signature toast with Jamaican-inspired rum cocktails while Humming Bird Newport will dish up a mouthwatering jerk dinner by RSVP.

Sunday

Their last full day in Newport will leave the Jamaicans freedom to explore once again, following the farewells with the home team.  Final excursions include   Then, the players will embark on their own grand tour with Newport Jaguar Tours to take in history, architecture, filmography, and more.  A final excursion with On Watch Sailing will leave lasting memories until Team Jamaica returns in the coming year for the next installment of its friendly rivalry with Team USA.  ROCKSTAR Limo will give the players a final sendoff with VIP ground transportation to embark on their return to the Caribbean.
