From the promenade deck of the Bon Voyage Ball, partygoers can enjoy signature libations with sunset views overlooking the Rhode Island sound while bidding on exclusive items on offer in the Silent Auction presented on Rosecliff's terrace during cocktail hour. (Auction Sneak Preview).
Renowned celebrity mixologist, The Cocktail Guru, will be shaking up a trio of Caribbean originals in honor of the Dominican Republic polo team, and supporting the Jeffrey Osborne Foundation.
Mama Juana or Mamajuana: Brugal Anejo Rum (Dominican Republic), red wine, honey, secret herbs and spices.
Straight from the Dominican Republic, this little-known elixir can trace its origins to a tea infusion made by the TaÍno people native to the island. The popularized version of today includes a mixture of herbs and spices, soaked in rum, red wine, and honey, to create a distinctive flavor often compared to port wine.
Newport Fog Cutter: Scapegrace Gin (New Zealand), almond, lemon, tropical juice
From the heyday of oceanliner travel and the height of tiki bar popularity comes a riff on this classic concoction of gin and other liquors with tropical notes and a distinct almond flavor.
Shaken Bushwhacker: Saint James Rhum (Martinique), coffee liqueur, Marie Brizard chocolate royale, coconut cream, salted caramel whipped cream
The newest kid on the block, born during the height of disco and Halston, this dessert-like libation has connections to the Caribean (where it was invented) and New England (inventor was cousin to a Boston Red Sox player). Compared to a piña colada, this version starts with a Caribbean rhum (distilled from sugarcane juice rather than molasses) first distilled in the 1700s, adding coffee, chocolate, and coconut for an indulgent experience.

The ball will take place at, Rosecliff, the premier estate amidst America’s finest collection of gilded age mansions. Commissioned by Nevada silver heiress Theresa Fair Oelrichs in 1899, architect Stanford White modeled Rosecliff after the Grand Trianon, the garden retreat of French kings at Versailles. After the house was completed in 1902, at a reported cost of $2.5 million, Mrs. Oelrichs hosted fabulous entertainments here, including a fairy tale dinner and a party featuring famed magician Harry Houdini.
