Move from the sidelines to the saddle in Newport Polo's introductory clinic for new players. Oriented for athletic adults looking for a new sporting pursuit, our USPA-certified instructor will guide you through polo basics, concluding with a scrimmage.
America's oldest polo club is still at the forefront of introducing the 3,000 year-old sport to new players. Newport Polo, reputed as a leading instructional polo program by the United States Polo Association (USPA), is launching its yearly lesson initiatives this Spring with an introductory clinic for adult beginners on Sunday, April 3 at 11am, Sunday, April 10 at 11am, and Sunday, April 24 at 11am.
The Adult Intro Clinic is offered in a small, focused group format to learn with other beginners and provide individual attention to each student’s progress and to practice newly learned skills in scrimmagesand put your new skills to use. The Clinic will cover...
Lesson horses are of the finest thoroughbred caliber & training, and professional grade polo equipment is provided. Directions to Newport Polo’s private equestrian training facility in Portsmouth are provided upon registration.
According to the USPA, the sport has grown in the US by 20% in the past few years, in addition to its global footprint in over 80 countries, with the help of clubs like Newport Polo that allocate resources for new participants to try the sport. Newport Polo’s membership today is made up mostly of players who got their start through the lesson program’s group lessons over the past 20+ years.
