Date: Tuesday, May 10, 2022

Unleashing eight months of pent-up excitement, the official throw in for the start of season 31 is only weeks away, for the return of high-caliber polo competition to its place of American landing.  These distinguished names are the latest to partner with Newport Polo, sustaining its growth initiaves and lending expertise in luxury and lifestyle for 17 weeks of field-side enjoyment.

"From the Polo Series's humble beginnings, increasing popularity and devotion of its world-class fans have attracted the attention of top national and international brands that want to be part of the experience," comments Newport Polo Founder and President Dan Keating.  "Each represents the best in their field to spur on continued development to the polo venue, gameday experience, and team hospitality to help make the Polo Series as extensive as it is today."

Champagne Cart on the Polo FieldPolo and champagne are synonymous, shared in victory and defeat by both teams at the conclusion of the match when they reunite at the trophy presentation, after the sound of popping corks reverberated around the sidelines during the match. The most iconic champagne with its instantly recognizable yellow label is returning for the 9th consecutive season to toast the players and fans of Newport Polo every Saturday.  Veuve Clicquot Champagne brings only one quality, the finest, to enjoy field-side from the Pavilion Patio Bar or delivered to your picnic by the mobile Champagne Cart, and to raise a glass at the Champagne Toast and Trophy Presentation to conclude every match.

Each season comes together like the facets of a diamond that make the gem sparkle as a whole.  Providence Diamond will add its brilliance this season as one of the few couture jewelers in the U.S., joining the Polo Series sponsor team for the first time.  Handsome silver player trophies crafted by renowned New England silversmith Reed & Barton, official Olympic medal designer whose pieces grace the White House, presented by Providence Diamond will become lasting keepsakes for the visiting teams, while match attendees may be awarded their own exceptional memento from our Official Jeweler in the weekly door prize drawing.  Rhode Island's premier jeweler is family-owned and operated for over 30 years, offering exceptional fine jewelry, bridal and custom designs, and timepieces, located in Garden City Center , Cranston.

Team Jamaica Outside Hotel VikingHotel Viking opened in 1926 to an awestruck public, miraculously surviving the Great Depression during its earliest years, to create nearly a century of history as a landmark destination in the City by the Sea.  Its timeless elegance is fused with modern comfort and amenities to create a unique experience at its highly coveted Bellevue Avenue address for a jumping-off-point into the heart of Newport.  Fan-favorite Team Jamaica will benefit from the world-class hospitality as it returns to its headquarters at Hotel Viking, for a retreat to stay charged to challenge team USA, while also easily exploring all the charms of Newport.  Catch the players starting their morning at Hill Market for fresh café delights, recharging in the renowned spa, or participating in one of the many seasonal activities.

Santa Margherita Chianti Classico on Cheese BoardThe Italian polo team stole the spotlight as a Polo Series perennial favorite and celebrity magnet since their first appearance, and no wonder when Rhode Island's population holds the largest percentage of Italian-Americans in the U.S.  Celebrating the rich Italian gastronomic heritage (read amazing wines), Santa Margherita shares 80 years of history as a premium Italian wine producer of Italy's finest viticulture zones.  Santa Margherita will give its national team a boost on July 23, and be featured throughout the season with wine sampling in the Vendor Village on July 9, July 23, August 20, and September 3, and five of its most popular labels as permanent additions to the Pavilion Patio Bar menu.

Atria at the Polo GroundsAtria Senior Living is caring for our greatest generation, following its philosophy to create vibrant, active communities across the U.S., including Newport.  Atria seeks to encourage a fulfilling lifestyle and promote independence while navigating the challenges of aging.  It is only fitting for Atria, as a home to history makers, to take center stage on July 30th as Newport faces the team from the repository of our nation's history, Washington D.C.  See the match info page for additional details.
