XOXO Polo Love Contest

Celebrating Connection

Date: Thursday, February 3, 2022

For the month of Love, send us a snippet of how you connected with your Loved One(s) at Newport Polo!  Romantic, friendly, familial, even puppy love - we are celebrating, as a tribute to our personal connections that make us and our community stronger.  Share your story along with a photo of your 'polo love connection' by commenting on the official Facebook contest post for your chance to win a pair of 2022 season passes to join us to your heart's content for all 17 matches and exciting lineup of challengers at the Newport International Polo Series.

Submissions will be accepted until 5PM on Valentine's Day, Monday, February 14, 2022.  One winner will be chosen from all eligible entries by none other than the Voice of Newport Polo - commentator William Crisp, and his wife Lowie, whose own love story began with the first USA vs. England match in 1992.  The epic tale opened with a fortuitous gathering for the visiting team in Newport, and has advanced chapter by chapter, hosting friends and their expanding family field-side, welcoming visiting teams into their home, and entertaining Saturday match goers from vantages in the commentator's tower and the former Twisted Pony Bar.  William and Lowie have lived many tales of connection at polo, making them the perfect arbiters to select our winner.  The winner will be announced in the forthcoming February edition of our eNewsletter (subscribe).

"It is more clear than ever that we are a global community that can only thrive on amity between its peoples," comments Newport Polo Founder Dan Keating.  "That is the vision I held for Newport Polo from the start, and have seen it achieved due in large part to our fans who return year after year, increasing numbers of friends and family in tow, with a spirit of fun and camaraderie."

We have witnessed so many joyful comings together over Newport Polo's 30-year history, from nuptial celebrations, reunions of friends, family, college classmates, celebrations of birthdays, anniversaries, retirements.  Then, separated by lockdowns and social distancing from even those with whom we are closest, we heard from so many loyal fans that polo remained a communal space with a sense of normality when the world was anything but.  These stories inspire us to carry on the legacy of America's first polo club, bringing together a vibrant community from around the world.  We can't wait to read your submissions!

Eligibility:  Entrants must be age 18 or older and a legal resident of the United States, located within the United States at the time of entry.  Submissions by employees and playing members of Newport Polo are welcome to share their stories, but will not be eligible to win the prize.
