Team Newport took to the field once again, to face rivals Palm Beach. The history of these two teams is captivating in the fact that up until this match, every game had ended in a tie. This match would be the one to break that tie, and the winner would come out on the other side with the coveted City Cup Trophy.
Playing for Newport in the first spot was Julia DeAgelis, in the second spot was Sam Shore, in the third spot was Dan Keating and in the fourth spot was Jim DeAngelis.
Playing for Palm Beach in the first spot was Khalid Dasuki, in the second spot was Johny Lavine, in the third spot was Chip Stiegler, and in the fourth spot was George Krabbe.
Unsuprisingly, the first Chukka began with a tie between Palm Beach and Newport, with both teams scoring two goals each. (Sam Shore and Jim DeAgelis for Newport and George Krabbe for Palm Beach). The second Chukka however, Palm Beach took the lead by blocking all of Newports attempted goals, whilst still scoring two goals for themselves. (Stiegler, Krabbe) In the third Chukka Newport scored one point (Shore) but so did Palm Beach (Stiegler) so thier lead held.
Fans held on hope the Newport would rise victoriousas the fourth Chukka began, but this CHukka proved to be just as rough for Newport as the second one was. Newport scored one goal (DeAglelis) but Palm Beach scored two (Stiegler, Krabbe). The fifth score was a wash-out with neither teams scoring, which meant that Palm Beach had a 3 point lead going into the final chukka. Palm Beach knuckled down during this Chukka scoring two more goals (Dasuki, Lavine) finalizing their victory over Newport. The final score? 4 to 9, Palm Beach wins.
During the match, a weekly door prize drawing and the Best Tailgate were awarded. The match concluded with the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Toast & Trophy Presentation, as well as an autograph signing and cocktail hour to mingle with the players.
